Mary of Hungary's "wedding" dress
other german artists
The site is currently being expanded and updated, some colours will be different on pages, some thimbnails will be visable and some images may not work. I am working on this over the next month, please bear with me as I go through this rather intense process.
Welcome to my documentation page for female german garb of the 16th C
This site will continually evolve as the web evolves.
To the left are links to pages of thumbnails for each decade/region.
Please note, I include all Switzerland with "other german" as it is
so very similar to a certain style within the german fashion, and very
different from the rest of europe at the time. The pages the thumnails
will link to should include information as to which city/region a
portrait belongs to. If the information isn't there, either I haven't
gotten around to uploading the data, or it wasn't available in the first place.
I will also have sections on particular aspects regarding to construction.
